Queen Elizabeth Collegiate & Vocational Institute (QECVI) will close at the end of the 2015-2016 school year to allow for its demolition and the subsequent construction of the new intermediate and secondary school tentatively set to begin in the fall or winter of 2016.

As part of the interim plan to allow for construction of the new school, current QECVI students (those in Grades 10 to 12) will relocate to Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCVI) from September 2015 to graduation. Incoming Grade 9 students from the QECVI famiy of feeder schools will relocate to Kingston Collegiate & Vocational Institute (KCVI).

As we prepare for its closure, QECVI will also mark the 60th anniversary of QECVI. There will be several events and activities to commemorate these two important milestones on the history of QECVI.
